William MacLean Bryson, Jr. (August 13, 1954 – January 14, 2026) William MacLean Bryson, Jr. passed away peacefully as the sun set on January 14, 2026, with his beloved wife Sheri at his side. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Bill was the third of six children born to Natalie Elizabeth (Duncan) Bryson and William MacLean Bryson. Throughout Bill’s childhood, the family was stationed across the U.S. and in Europe as their dad rose in rank in the U.S. Navy. The family first moved to Washington State in the mid-1960’s, when their dad was stationed as an Officer at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor in Kitsap County. After additional duty in South Carolina, Alaska, and California, the family settled in Silverdale, Washington when dad retired from the Navy.
Bill was an electrician whose work included installing cable, as well as home and office repair in Kitsap and surrounding counties. He met Sheri when they both worked at the Port Ludlow Golf Course, which is where they married more than 33 years ago. They lived in the Olympic View area of Silverdale for many years, and in 2019 they moved to the Cape George area of Port Townsend, where they became active in the New Life Church.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Sheri Marie (Roberds) Bryson; by his step-children: Mya Fairless, James Fairless, and Jamie Wright; and by Sheri’s children: Ben Byington, Jami Avery Trafton, Jason Avery, and Jody Avery. Bill is also survived by his sisters: Elizabeth Bryson; Amelia Taylor; and Rebecca Bryson; by nieces Amy Curtis, Sarah Chamberlain, Elizabeth Curtis, Alice Peterson, and Madison Taylor Olson; by his aunts Muriel Standley, Patricia Ludy, and Jennabell Duncan; and by all of their respective families. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers David and James.
A memorial service and celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the New Life Church, 1636 Hastings Avenue, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the New Life Church or The Paul Linder Educational Foundation, PO Box 2234, Silverdale, WA 98383 (a charity Bill’s mom co-founded to support public schools in Kitsap County, WA).
Many thanks to the medical providers, staff, and residents at The Arbor in Bremerton; to the doctors and staff at Jefferson County Hospital; to the gentle caregivers affiliated with Envision Hospice; to the Bradley-Kosec Funeral Home; and to family members and dear friends who visited Bill and supported Sheri and the family over the past year.
