Teresa Renee Davie Grice, 70, passed away serenely in her home surrounded by family on November 2, 2025, in Sequim, Washington. She was born on September 3, 1955, in Long Beach, California, to Dean Lyle Davie and Wanda Anna Hill (Robbins) Davie.
Teresa grew up in Washington and spent her early years learning determination and resilience. As a child, she wore leg braces, but she never allowed them to slow her down. Keeping up with her older brothers helped shape the tenacity and spirit she carried throughout her life.
She attended Georgetown Elementary, Beacon Hill Elementary, Asa Mercer Junior High, and Cleveland High School, later graduating from Issaquah High School in 1973.
Teresa was devoted to her family and cared for each person in her life with extraordinary loyalty and love. She was known for being incredibly supportive, always ready to listen, encourage, and show up when she was needed most. She brought laughter wherever she went and wasn’t afraid to be silly if it meant brightening someone’s day. Her optimism was one of her defining qualities — she could find wonder in the ordinary and joy in even the simplest moments especially nature.
Those who knew her often remarked on her ability to make everything feel special. She was a natural peacemaker, someone whose presence brought calm, connection, and warmth. She had a fun-loving spirit, a sense of awe about the world, and a way of uplifting others simply by being herself. She loves with her full, open heart. That was Teresa: generous, kind, and devoted.
Teresa was gifted in drawing and needlework, expressive talents she carried with her throughout her life. She was also a dedicated and compassionate nurse, a role that suited her perfectly because of her deep empathy and steady, caring nature. She touched many lives with her gentleness and her ability to make people feel safe. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Providence Hospital (later becoming Swedish Hospital) in Seattle for over 40 years. She was a DAISY award recipient. She will be remembered for her nurturing by countless patients and families for her wonderful care.
She is survived by her siblings who she cherished as best friends: Mary Lynn Davie Aston, Sharon Ann Davie Phillips, and Deanna Michele Davie Riendeau. She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Lyle Davie, and siblings Raymond Lyle Davie, Tony Patrick Davie, and Loving Mother Bobby Wanda Anna Hill (Robbins) Davie.
Teresa leaves behind a family who will forever savor the laughter, the stories, the encouragement, and the unwavering love she offered so freely. The love of her life and Husband of 44 years: Kenneth Scott Grice. Her Biological children Kacie Renee Grice and Kevin Scott Grice. Children by Marriage: Christopher Warren Grice and Autumn Gayle Grice, and her Step Granddaughter Ruby Alexandra Grice. Her memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.
