Sandra "Sandy" Eileen Sharp (Wilson) passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Port Townsend, Washington, at the age of 79. She had been battling with Frontotemporal Dementia for an extended period of time prior to her passing.
Born on December 28, 1946, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Tom and Hazel Wilson, Sandy developed a lifelong love for learning and language. This passion guided her career as a high school English teacher in Chesterfield, Virginia, where she spent 15 years inspiring students with her dedication to literature and education.
Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Michael Sharp, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. She is survived by her husband Michael; her son Kevin Sharp (and his partner Dori Broglino) her daughter Stephanie Sharp (and her partner Taki Al-Kotrani); and her grandsons Michael Aitken (and his wife Madison Ward) and Wilson Aitken (and his wife Cassia Bard-Cavers). Sandy also leaves behind her nieces Beth Richardson (and her wife Jenni Sturgis), and Lisa Coker; nephews Charlie Richardson (and his wife Diana Farmer), Thomas Richardson (and his wife Karen), Brent Wilson, and Todd Coker; as well as many dear friends and neighbors from Port Townsend, Washington, where she resided for the past 13 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Hazel Wilson; her sister Marty Richardson; her brother Jack Wilson; and her nephew David Wilson. Their memories remained close to Sandy's heart throughout her life.
Sandy's warmth and generosity extended beyond family to the many friendships she cultivated over the years. Her time in Port Townsend was especially meaningful as she formed deep connections within the community. Known for her kindness and spirit, Sandy touched the lives of all who knew her.
May Sandra Eileen Sharp's memory bring comfort to those who loved her. Friends and family are invited to share memories of Sandra and sign the online guestbook.
