Michael Gerald Leder, 78, died of CNS lymphoma on May 23, 2026.

He was born June 16, 1947, in Newport, Oregon to Gerald Jacob and Edra Marie Leder. He spent much of his childhood in Idaho and attended Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls. After High School he enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Betelgeuse (AK/FBM-260) and on land in Da Nang, Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Returning to civilian life he worked and attended college earning a BS degree in Computer Science and Business from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. It was a milestone that opened the door to a long and successful career.

Michael began his professional journey in technical sales, a field where his intelligence, work ethic, and ability to connect with people set him apart.

He lived in Covina, Monrovia, and Glendora, CA before moving to Fairwood (Seattle), WA. After moving to Fairwood he joined IBM, where he thrived and earned the prestigious IBM Golden Circle Award (twice!) recognizing him as one of the company’s top performers. He later continued his success at Lenovo, becoming a respected part of their sales team.

After retirement in 2014 Michael didn’t slow down- he soon started a new career in real estate joining Keller-Williams, Bellevue, WA, where he enjoyed helping clients find their perfect homes with patience and care.

Outside of work, he enjoyed many hobbies: dirt bike riding, kayaking. Photography, remodeling, and stained glass.

In 2017, Michael and his wife settled in Port Ludlow.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Daria; his daughter Joelle Victoria (Dan) Rule; sons Gary Michael and Paul Jacob; grandchildren; sisters Janet Smith and Joi (Todd) Thompkin; brothers Randy Manning, Steve Manning, Jerry Jr. Leder, David Lyon; and numerous other loving family members.

Michael was preceded in death by his siblings: Christina J., Fawn Joan, Terry Ellis, and James Lyon.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed dearly.
