James Douglas House

April 10, 1949 — November 7, 2024

James Douglas House, 75, of Brinnon, Washington, died November 7, 2024, at home with his wife and family. He was born in San Pedro, California, on April 10, 1949.

His family moved to Washington in the early 1960s. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1967. He met his wife, RaeAnn Howard, in early 1968, and they were married on April 6, 1968. It was a wonderful marriage that lasted 56 years. Jim and RaeAnn had three sons: Kevin (Gladys), Jason (Erin), and Colin. They also had six grandchildren: Ryan, Mason, Ella, Jordan, Hadley, and Bailee.

Jim was a 35-year Operating Engineers Local 302 member, running all types of heavy equipment on various projects throughout Washington. He was always involved in volunteering with his son's activities as a coach, mentor, father figure, or board member. He was always available to pick up a rake to help the kids get their game in.

A devoted husband, father, and grandpa, Jim was always a family man first. He was hardworking, trustworthy, and available to help family and friends when needed. He always supported his grandkids' activities by showing up to nearly every game, school concert, etc., with a smile and a hug—and maybe a trip to the concession stand.

This loss has left a massive void for his family to navigate. He was loved very much and will be sorely missed.

For anyone interested in his celebration of life, it is planned for August 2, 2025, at Olympic View Community Club from 1 to 4 p.m. Please join us and share a memory or story of Jim with family and friends.
