James Steven Bogowitz

James Steven Bogowitz, better known as Jim, passed away on April 27th, 2026, from an extended illness in Chimacum WA. Jim was born in San Diego California on March 19, 1957, to Ray and Gloria Bogowitz. Jim loved camping and hiking with his family in California and later with his sons in Washington. He had many lifetime adventures; one was moving to Alaska right out of high school. He came back to Washington State and lived in Kingston where he met his partner Shirley Reynolds and started a family. Jim eventually moved to Port Ludlow in Jefferson County and lived in Chimacum as well for many years.

He was a husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by both sons, Jesse R. Bogowitz of Brinnon and James A. Bogowitz of Chimacum, and granddaughters Aurora L. Bogowitz and Arayah R. Bogowitz. Jim is also survived by brothers Tom Bogowitz, Greg Bogowitz, sisters Cheri Bogowitz and Marci Bogowitz.

Jim was a kind and caring person. He loved his family and his dogs. He will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer. No date has been selected yet
