Danny Wayne Pierce, 12/21/1945 - 06/07/2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Danny Pierce. Danny passed away at Jefferson Healthcare surrounded by his loving family in Port Townsend. He was 79.

Danny was born on December 21, 1945 in Spokane, Washington to Dale and Norma Pierce He graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1966. Danny was married twice and had no children. He worked for the hospital when it was known as Jefferson General Hospital in Port Townsend for 35 years retiring in 2008. Danny also worked for Boeing for several years.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Norma Pierce and sister Gayle Jean. He is survived by sister, Donna Noble (Daniel), brothers, David and Douglas (Beth Marshall), nephew Jason Knight and niece Sara Pierce.

Danny was known as, “the walking party”, because he was always visiting music and dance venues. He was a legend on the dance floors throughout Port Townsend for his “Danny Shuffle.” Danny would follow many bands and act as an honorary manager for some. He always had a positive outlook on life and was always grateful. He sustained severe injuries in a car accident in 1966 and was unconscious for thirteen days. Because of that accident Danny was extremely grateful for everything in life.

Danny will be remembered for his 1950 Chevy Pickup which he loved dearly. Working on the truck and going to car shows kept him busy for many years. He was a member of the Raker’s Car Club and enjoyed talking about classic vehicles with other Raker’s members. Danny lived on Umatilla Ave for many years before moving to Port Hadlock. In 2021, he moved to Avamere and loved being there and riding his scooter to see his sister nearby. He was always on the go and enjoyed working out in Avamere’s exercise room every day.

Danny loved his two brothers and sister. Every day at 9:00am he would call Doug and tell him how he was doing and if he needed anything. Every conversation ended with Danny thanking Doug profusely for all his help. Later in the day, he would make calls to Dave and Donna. He always had something to say. He felt that the people at Avamere were his family and he would always give them his daily update. Danny liked going on all of the bus ride adventures and musical events at Avamere. At times, Danny lacked a social filter which would either be funny or get him in trouble. Danny loved everyone.

The Pierce family would like to thank the staff at Jefferson Healthcare and the staff at Avamere for all of their support and love. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate to your local food bank or favorite charity. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Danny and sign the online guestbook.
