Curtis C. “Curt” Danielson

Curt died peacefully in his sleep with his wife of 61 years Britt at his side on October 26, 2026. He was 93 years old.

He was born the second of four siblings on December 16, 1932 in Minneapolis to descendants of Swedish emigrants Clarence and Mabel (Johnson) Danielson. The family lived on a farm near Long Lake, Minnesota. As a youth, he worked on the farm. In his teen years he caddied at golf courses ($1 earned for carrying a bag of clubs for 18 holes) and worked as a pin setter in a bowling alley.

Curt attended four different high schools in four years, eventually graduating from Deephaven High School in 1950 and then enlisted in the USAF in 1951. During the Korean War, he island-hopped across Pacific to Japan with the 31st Fighter Escort Wing. After four years of service, Curt used his GI Bill benefits to enroll at the University of Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1959 and moved to Seattle to work for Boeing, as was the style at the time. Two years later he joined Seattle-First National Bank and worked for 28 years at several branches-Burien, Longview, Olympia, and eventually became manager at the Lakewood and Port Townsend branches. He opted for early retirement in 1985 and transitioned into the real estate business with HJ Carroll Real Estate in Port Townend, finally retiring as designated broker in 1998.

While working in Seattle in the early 1960s, Curt met a young nurse from Sweden at a dance held by the German Club. Britt-Inger Haraldsdotter was working at Swedish Hospital on a nurse exchange program. They were married in April 1965 and then moved to Longview, where their son Eric was born. Three years later, another son, Carl, was born in Olympia.

Curt and Britt both enjoyed alpine and cross-country skiing for 40+ years and especially enjoyed Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Washington. He also was an avid golfer for many years, often playing the Port Townsend Golf Course. Curt was an active member of many community groups, serving as either president or treasurer for at least twelve different civic organizations in Jefferson County.

He is survived by his devoted wife Britt and his sons Eric Danielson (Christine) and Carl Danielson (partner Suzanne Sprunger) grandchildren Lane Danielson (partner Searra Harding) and Quinn Danielson (partner Alex Scappaticci), his sister Beverly Pearson of Vermont, and nieces Abby and Lesley Pearson of New Hampshire. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Burton, and sister Lorraine.

At Curt’s request there are no services. Should you feel so inclined, donations to Jefferson County Hospice Care are appreciated.
