Bettye June Kingsbury

Bettye June Kingsbury, 89, of Port Ludlow, Washington, passed away on September 15,2025.

Bettye June (Shelton) Kingsbury was born on November 29th 1935, in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Her family later moved to Evansville, Indiana where she graduated from Bosse High School. Shortly after marrying Dalton Charles Kingsbury she moved to California, where they made their home and raised the family. After working as a secretary in the aerospace industry she and Charles retired to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. In their later years, they returned to Indiana and reconnected with family members and friends. After 62 years of marriage, Charles passed in 2016. Shortly thereafter Bettye relocated to Port Ludlow Washington, to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

Bettye is survived by her daughter Susan (Kingsbury) Garcia, (Ron) of Port Ludlow Washington, Son Steven Kingsbury of San Bruno California; grandchildren Aaron Bovberg (Sarah), Andrea Monti, (Dan), Joseph Garcia, (Lacey), Stephanie (Garcia) Smith, (Matt), Andrew Kingsbury and Blake Kingsbury; step grandson Ryan Garcia; great-grandchildren, Claire, Jack, Ben, Violet, Leo, Joseph James, Penny and Gwendolyn; step-great grandson Mattix; sister Kathy Shelton, brother Ronnie Shelton and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dalton Charles Kingsbury, and brother Harold Shelton.

Her ashes will be placed to rest at the Kauai Veteran's Cemetery Coumbarummin Hanapepe, where she will join Dalton Charles Kingsbury, at a future date with immediate family in attendance.
